The Enforcement Division at the Ontario Securities Commission is seeking a Law Clerk for a 6-month fixed-term contract. In this pivotal position, you will provide support to investigators and litigation counsel, ensuring thorough and detailed investigation processes. Essential skills include legal research, document analysis, and evidence compilation to foster effective capital markets and support investor protection.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist investigators and counsel on misconduct investigations
• Analyze and summarize critical documents for cases
• Organize evidence and prepare necessary legal documents
• Collaborate with other regulators on investigative requests
• Support litigation processes during trials and hearings
Requirements:
• Completion of a 2-year Law Clerk Program required
• Member in positive standing with ILCO preferred
• 5 years of relevant legal experience preferred
• Knowledge of the Ontario Securities Act and legal drafting
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
