Position Summary

Barrick Mining is hiring core shack technicians for exploration projects in Rouyn-Noranda, QC. The technician will, under senior supervision, manage and prepare drill core samples for geologic characterization, ensuring quality control and health‑safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

- Act safely and responsibly within and around the core shack facilities and participate in daily safety meetings.
- Cut drill core according to protocols established by geologists and core shack technicians.
- Operate and maintain the core saw while preserving sample integrity and representativeness.
- Organize and store core according to established protocols.
- Label, package, and prepare samples for shipment to the laboratory.
- Assist the core shack team in handling and moving core boxes.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent (asset).
- Experience in a core shack or industrial workplace (asset).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.




- Attention to detail and thoroughness in work.
- Good physical condition (repetitive lifting).
- Valid driver’s license (asset).
- French speaking (English is an asset).
