Become a vital part of YG Health & Social Services as a Community Outreach Worker in Port Alberni. Focused on advocacy, health access, and restorative justice, this full time role supports Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ members.
In this position, you will facilitate outreach, support wellness navigation, and assist Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ citizens in gaining access to essential services. This role requires building relationships and providing client support in culturally safe ways, especially for those involved with the justice system. You'll work closely with community partners to implement restorative practices and enhance social well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide community-based outreach and navigation support
• Build long-term relationships with Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ members




• Advocate for clients within health and justice systems
• Facilitate restorative justice initiatives and diversion opportunities
• Maintain accurate client records and reporting
Requirements:
• Diploma or degree in a relevant field
• Experience in community support and outreach services
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence
• Knowledge of Indigenous community resources
• Strong interpersonal and advocacy skills
