Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking an addition to the Environmental Engineering Team in Nova Scotia and/or Recent Brunswick. We are currently recruiting for aEnvironmental Engineer/Geoscientist who is a motivated team player to support our operations.

The successful candidate will possess detailed knowledge and experience associated with contaminated sites including Phased Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and remediation, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and exhibit strong technical skills.

Fredericton, NB or Dartmouth, NS

Key Responsibilities

- Manage technical support and writing of Phase I, II and III ESAs and baseline studies, and monitoring programs
- Applying technical knowledge and methods to formulate solutions and approaches to standard problems in the area of contaminated site assessment, risk assessment and remediation
- Assist in analyzing current and emerging technical issues and implementing proactive and innovative solutions
- Prepare proposals including the development of project scopes, schedules, budgets and coordination of staff
- Interpretation of environmental regulations and field/laboratory results
- Provide supervision and mentorship of junior team members
- Interact and interface with clients, regulators and subcontractors
- Ultimately ensure that assessments undertaken are conducted safely and in strict compliance with Wood's safety standards

Skills / Qualifications

- Must have a University Degree in a related field such as Environmental Science, Geology, or Environmental / Civil Engineering
- Designated Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.), or Environmental Professional (EP)
- Must have minimum of 7-10 years of related experience




- Ability to manage the demands of multiple concurrent projects and challenging deadlines
- Experience with large environmental assessment and remediation projects
- Experience working with diverse (both technically and geographically) project teams
- Self-starter, able to complete tasks with minimal supervision and direction
- Demonstrated professional judgment, consistency, and attention to detail; track record of quality work products
- Strong oral and written communication skills; experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Federal and Provincial contaminated sites legislation, regulations and processes
- Additional experience in hazardous materials assessments, risk assessments and waterlot/marine harbour investigations would be an asset
- Demonstrated supervisory experience of project team including junior professionals, technicians and subcontractors
- Reliability, strong work ethic and ability to work in a team-oriented environment are a must
