Job Title: Equipment Operator

Reports to: Assistant Operations Manager/Operations Manager

This position is Full Time, Year Round. In the winter this is an Overnight Snow Groomer position, and spring through fall this position is as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Equipment includes: Skid Steer, Backhoe, Farm Tractor, Excavator etc and the relative attachments.

Job Summary

The Equipment Operator runs machinery in a safe and appropriate manner, to assist in the completion of on hill projects including grading, pipe work, snow grooming/removal and other projects as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Responsible for cleaning, maintaining and securing all equipment as directed by legislation, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment and report any issues to Equipment Mechanic and Management.
- Clean, lubricate and perform other minor maintenance work
- Maneuver heavy equipment into load or unload positions, following signals from spotters as needed
- Check machinery before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is properly positioned and functioning
- Drive ATV/RTV, snowmobiles, trucks, various tracked vehicles and heavy equipment as required




- Work safely in close proximity to heavy equipment, high voltage, high water and air pressures
- Work closely and assist other departments such as grooming, lifts, and maintenance shop as required
- Use all PPE required while following all safe operating procedures outlined in the Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Document and report all mechanical/safety issues, complete maintenance logs and checks

Qualifications

- Valid Driver’s license
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- Good communication skills and ability to follow direction
- Work well in a team and in individual assignment
- Ability to safely lift 50lbs
- Ability to Multitask
- Works well under pressure
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to safely operate and maneuver Snowmobile/ATV and heavy machinery
- Electronic/mechanical familiarity

Working Conditions

- Working in all weather conditions, during days, evenings, nights and weekends

Physical Requirements

- A physically demanding job, required to stand for extended periods of time on slippery/uneven snowy or ice surfaces, lift heavy objects up to 50lbs on a regular basis, and do repetitive tasks. Must remain attentive for safety reasons at all times.
