Take charge of educational initiatives at Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre in Peterborough, Ontario. As the Education Program Coordinator, engage the community and promote turtle conservation through dynamic presentations and activities.
In this full-time, permanent role, you will lead the development and delivery of the Centre’s Education Program aimed at schools, camps, and community groups. Your expertise in turtle biology and conservation will inspire participants to take action for Ontario's native turtles. Utilize current facilities for program growth while delivering informative and engaging education experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement educational presentations and activities
• Engage community groups, schools, and visitors
• Grow education programs at the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre
• Collaborate with staff to enhance educational outreach
• Maintain a positive and organized environment
Requirements:
• Post-secondary diploma or degree in relevant fields
• Minimum two years of experience in public education
• Deep knowledge of Ontario’s turtle biology and conservation
• Ability to safely handle turtles and lift containers
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle access
