Description

Ledcor is hiring Heavy Equipment Mechanics for upcoming major construction projects across Canada. Skilled tradespersons are sought who are passionate about equipment reliability, safety, and quality workmanship.

Essential Responsibilities

- Safe and cost-effective maintenance of heavy mobile equipment
- Inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain heavy construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, haul trucks and support equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with manufacturer and site requirements
- Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections and complete daily field-level hazard assessments for all activities
- Complete maintenance reporting and other documentation as required
- Collaborate and communicate effectively and professionally with other team members
- Lead in both safety and production for the team by ensuring compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies and procedures

Requirements

- 3+ years previous experience preferred
- Journeyperson certification from a recognized training authority
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision
- Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
- Must have a valid Driver's License and a clear 3-year driver's abstract
- Experience with equipment such as CAT, Komatsu, John Deere and Hitachi
- Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
- Ability to work rotations, shifts, and overtime

Compensation

$34.32 to $49.03 per hour. Wage range varies based on trade certification, apprenticeship level, industry experience and work location.

Remote and site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives, including travel and accommodation allowances.
