Licensed Practical Nurses participate in the nursing process to provide quality person served focused care, under the direction of RPNs / RNs, physicians and other health team members. The LPN administers and documents personal care which meets the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the persons served at Topaz Place. They assist Communitas in the mission to provide a healthy life for older persons with respect to their capabilities, assisting them to reach their maximum potential in a caring and supportive environment.

Location: Chilliwack, BC

Positions Available:
1 Full-Time (34hrs/wk), Temporary (until Nov. 30)

Schedule: Licensed Practical Nurses are expected to work according to pre-determined schedules as per program needs. Each schedule will have day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts unless otherwise stated.

Graduation from approved Practical Nursing Program
Current registration with BCCN&M;
A philosophy of service that is in line with Communitas’ Vision, Mission and Values

Ability to take initiative with creativity
Excellent teamwork skills, ability to maintain honest, direct and respectful relationships
Ability to receive direction as well as being able to work independently without supervision
Ability to safely and efficiently operate all equipment associated with the duties of the position
Ability to physically and emotionally carry out the duties of the position
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Possession of Food Protected Level 1 Certificate or equivalent
Current CPR “C” Certificate

LPN’s and RN’s who work Full time will be reimbursed for 100% of their registration fees. LPN’s and RN’s who work part time will receive a pro-rated reimbursement based on their number of permanent hours/week.
