We are looking for an experienced Power Engineer 5 / Maintenance Worker V to join our dedicated and supportive team at the Kootenay Lake Regional Hospital in Nelson, BC.

This is a permanent full time position working Tuesday to Saturday day shifts from 07:00 to 15:00. This position supports facilities within the Nelson area. On-call rotation required with this position.

Your Role:
As a Power Engineer | Maintenance Worker, you will be instrumental in operating and maintaining the power plant or low-pressure steam plant to ensure optimal functionality of boilers, air conditioning units, emergency power systems, and related equipment. Your responsibilities will include performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and trades duties approaching the journeyman level in areas such as electrical, plumbing, and painting,



all while adhering to applicable codes and regulations. Additionally, you will supervise Maintenance Workers and other designated staff, contributing to a protected, effective, and well-maintained facility setting.

Grade 10, plus four years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Certificate of competency as a 5th Class Power Engineer with Boiler Endorsement recognized by the Province of British Columbia.
Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License required.
