Join the Town of Oakville as a Harbourperson Assistant on a temporary full time contract. This role involves the operation, maintenance, and repair of harbour facilities while ensuring excellent service to the public.
The Harbourperson Assistant will report directly to the Harbours Coordinator and is responsible for the installation and maintenance of docks and associated infrastructure. Key tasks include operating boats, performing repairs, and ensuring safety standards while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Professionally represent the Corporation in public interactions
• Install, assemble, and dismantle harbours and docks
• Maintain and inspect floating docks and related hardware




• Perform boat operations and towing as required
• Conduct maintenance on tools and vehicles regularly
Requirements:
• Grade 12 completion plus 2 years related experience
• Pleasure Craft Operator’s card is mandatory
• Valid Ontario class DZ driver’s licence required
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Flexibility to work shifts in varying weather
