We are seeking for a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our growing team, you will be a key member of our engineering team and receive instructions from our senior staff. Our approach is hands on, where you will be involved in project start to finish. Our senior staff will provide one on one training and guidance for you to succeed in your role. You will participate in field surveying, engineering design with one-on-one training sessions by our senior staff, inspections, systems testing and commissioning.Responsibilities
Design of building mechanical systems including HVAC, Plumbing & Drainage, Building Automation & InstrumentationField surveying to review existing building systemsProduction of engineering load calculations, equipment sizing and selectionProduction of engineered drawings, details and schematicsEnsuring designs meet relevant codes and regulationsPreparation of technical reportsCoordination with other disciplinesContract administration including issuance of site instructions, submittal reviews, field inspections and production of field reportsQualifications




Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (thermos/fluids or building sciences is an asset)Minimum 5 years of direct and full time experience in design of building mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing)Proficiency in AutoCADGood analytical skills and attention to detailEnglish written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with HVAC load calculations (HAP preferred, energy modeling is an asset)P.Eng. designation is an asset, or otherwise working towardsWork well in a team workplace and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.Basic understanding of relevant codes and regulationsValid driver’s license and owned vehicle requiredWe offer a competitive salary, adaptable environment, training, opportunities for growth and development within the company.
