The Unit Manager is responsible for the day-to-day unit operation including direct supervision of unit staff. This role interacts with physicians, nursing staff, other unit staff, and other departments and interdisciplinary team members on a daily basis and provides clinical support to patient/resident care by exception only. The position facilitates and fosters interdisciplinary participation in patient/resident care activities and coaches, mentors, motivates and empowers clinical staff. The Unit Manager creates a climate of interdepartmental respect and collaboration, and adheres and models the Covenant Health mission, vision and values. Required Qualifications:
Formal Education: Graduate of a recognized Registered Nursing program required. Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BScN) recommended. Experience: Minimum three (3) years recent nursing experience required. Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory/management experience recommended. Charge nurse experience required. Combination of education and experience may be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Current registration from the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) required. Current Heart and Stroke Foundation B.L.S. Certification (Level C) Health Care Provider required.
