Join Dialpad as an AI Engineer dedicated to speech technology, primarily focused on the back-end implementation and optimization of TTS systems. Work in a hybrid workplace to help enhance customer experience through AI. As part of the Speech Team, this role involves engineering the voice layer for AI agents.

You'll be tasked with the integration of TTS engines, ensuring they sound natural and context-aware. Collaborate closely with the Voice Experience Designer to implement persona standards for a seamless user interface. Your technical expertise in Python, speech synthesis, and backend engineering will drive impactful innovations in voice AI. Key Responsibilities:
Own TTS backend implementation and optimization of vendor APIs
Minimize latency across ASR, LLM,



and TTS pipelines
Apply phonetics for natural TTS input formatting
Build persona parameterization systems for UI exposure
Manage LLM and TTS prompt templates and evaluations

Requirements:
Robust Python and deep learning experience
3+ years in Speech Synthesis or applied speech ML
Degree in Computational Linguistics or AI/ML
Background in producing cloud-grade APIs
Experience with speech-quality metrics and testing
