Cambrian College’s School of Skills Trades requires a part-time Technologist, Machining Programs 24 hours a week, on a leave replacement basis beginning September until December 2026.
- In collaboration with the program team coordinator, the Technologist will plan, supervise, organize, and maintain lab facilities in a secure and efficient manner.
- Support faculty in the design, modification, and delivery of academic curriculum, and be responsible for the acquisition and installation of laboratory equipment in both machining and carpentry.
- Provide assistance and direction to students in the lab while also controlling and overseeing students conducting academic projects.
- Actively promote and uphold solid workplace safety standards and be an effective role model within the classroom.
Required:
- Must have a Certificate of Qualification within Machining and valid First Aid and WHMIS certifications. (A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application *** education completed outside of Canada,
applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application)
- Three years of experience in the trade after receiving certification.
- Working knowledge in Microsoft software such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High degree of initiative, work-related flexibility, and creative problem-solving skills.
- The ability to advise and positively interact with students is important, as is the ability to work within a team environment.
Additional Assets/Preferred:
- Postsecondary diploma.
- Experience working within a postsecondary environment.
