Collaborate with Your Toronto Zoo as a Grant Turtle Island Conservation Steward. This role, dedicated to conservation and traditional knowledge, focuses on implementing programs to protect biodiversity and cultural heritage.
You will play a key role in furthering conservation efforts alongside First Nations communities and partners. With your background in conservation biology, you will assist with administrative tasks, grant writing, and outreach education. This position offers the chance to develop educational materials while connecting youth and Elders in conservation activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage with First Nations for conservation programming
• Develop culturally relevant educational resources




• Lead outreach and distribution to Indigenous communities
• Assist in planning special conservation events
• Conduct fieldwork and conservation monitoring
Requirements:
• Degree in conservation biology or similar field
• 2 years of relevant work experience required
• First Nations or Inuit youth eligibility
• Awareness of Indigenous protocols and cultures
• Proven experience in community outreach and public speaking
