Clio is seeking a Software Development Manager to join our Engineering team focused on the Clio Billing System (CBS) product. The role works in the PST and MST time zones in Canada, primarily located in the Burnaby or Calgary office hubs. Managers will be expected to work in the office at least twice per week on anchor days.

Lead roadmap creation and execution for the team, guiding projects from inception to delivery while focusing on AI application throughout the development lifecycle.

Design and enforce solid technical solutions, coaching the team on architecture, planning, and code quality.

Actively contribute as a developer on projects, including requirements, design, implementation, and reviews.

Proven people leadership in software development, particularly with large‑scale SaaS products.

Robust background in hands‑on software development.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for translating complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.

Deep technical knowledge enabling the team to solve complex problems and learn from both successes and failures.

Growth mindset focused on process improvement and emerging technologies, especially AI.





Track record of hiring, coaching, and retaining top engineering talent in a fast‑paced setting.

Active engagement in both technical work and team development, fostering cooperative attitudes.

Experience with Ruby on Rails.

Experience with subscription, billing, and quoting systems at scale.
