Role Responsibilities Are you passionate about shaping public policy and influencing decisions that impact workplaces across Alberta? Join a dynamic team where your expertise will help address complex labour relations policy issues and support policy and legislative frameworks that affect workers, employers and unions across the province.
Reporting to the Manager of Labour Relations Policy, the Senior Policy Analyst joins a team of specialists responsible for the development and maintenance of the Labour Relations Code, Public Service Employee Relations Act, Police Officers Collective Bargaining Act and the Burial of the Dead Act.
The Senior Policy Analyst leads complex policy analysis and project work associated with emerging labour relations issues, trends and reviews of labour relations policy and legislation.
This includes providing timely, high quality written analysis,
options and strategic advice to decision makers.
The successful candidate will have: Strong ability to interpret and apply legislation and understanding of the legislative development process.
Knowledge of government decision-making and policy development processes.
Robust research, problem solving and analytical skills to monitor and conduct strategic analysis of labour relations issues and trends.
Ability to support a variety of projects and use strong time management skills to meet timelines.
Relationship building and teamwork skills.
Excellent written communication skills to articulate complex information in a explicit and concise manner.
