Lead regional land use planning with the Government of Northwest Territories. As a Senior Land Use Planner, you’ll ensure sustainable resource management and cooperative policy development.
The Senior Land Use
Planner position focuses on comprehensive planning services within the Department of Environment and Climate Change. This role involves implementing regional land use plans and adhering to various Acts including the Mackenzie Valley Resource Management Act. Your expertise will guide senior management and working groups to achieve GNWT obligations effectively. Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialist expertise on land use planning initiatives
Fulfill GNWT obligations for regional land use plans
Implement policies and programs for effective land use planning
Consult with legal counsel on planning issues
Coordinate with regional land use planning boards Requirements:
Master’s degree in planning or related field
3 years of professional planning experience
Knowledge of relevant departmental Acts and legislation
Solid ability to adapt to changing deadlines
Experience in a politically sensitive setting Drive impactful planning initiatives and collaborate for the benefit of Northwest Territories’ residents as a Senior Land Use Planner.
