Data Engineer with Azure & Databricks to focus on continuous improvement for data solutions that support multiple business areas.

Our client is seeking a Data Engineer to support and enhance our enterprise data environment. You'll work with a collaborative team to optimize data pipelines, automate processes, improve platform performance, and deliver reliable data solutions that support multiple business areas. 6 month contract to start, strong possibility of extension and 4 days in downtown Calgary office required. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys continuous improvement, solving technical challenges, and exploring contemporary technologies to improve the way data solutions are built and supported. We're looking for someone who is curious, collaborative, committed to continuous learning, and interested in exploring AI to improve the way they work. Must Have

Experience as a

Data Engineer building and supporting enterprise data pipelines (ETL/ELT) Hands-on experience with

Databricks Experience working with

Microsoft Azure Experience optimizing, automating, and maintaining data engineering solutions Strong

SQL and relational database

experience Nice to Have

Experience with Fivetran or similar cloud-based data ingestion tools Experience evaluating and adopting new data engineering tools and technologies Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) to improve productivity, automate tasks,



or solve technical problems Experience supporting enterprise data platforms Experience working in Agile delivery environments What You'll Do

Support and enhance an enterprise data environment by optimizing existing data pipelines and processes. Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks, improve performance, and increase platform reliability. Build, support, and optimize scalable data engineering solutions using Databricks and Azure. Support the team's transition to modern data ingestion capabilities, including Fivetran. Collaborate with technical team members and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions supporting multiple business areas.
