Become a vital part of the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board as a Casual Tutor in the Literacy and Numeracy program. This role supports students in grades 7-12 through focused, personalized learning experiences.
The OCDSB is seeking qualified applicants for upcoming casual tutoring roles dedicated to enhancing student academic performance. You'll provide one-on-one or small-group assistance tailored to individual learning styles within a supportive environment. Your work will focus on subjects such as Science, Mathematics, Social Sciences, English, and Language Arts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide individualized instruction to improve student performance
• Evaluate students' knowledge and areas for growth
• Develop tailored lesson plans aligned with Ontario K-12 Curriculum
• Simplify complex concepts using various teaching aids
• Monitor student progress and communicate with stakeholders
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education preferred; Teacher Education program is an asset
• Ontario College of Teachers Certification is beneficial
• Experience in teaching or tutoring grades 7-12
• Robust communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with G-Suite and digital educational tools
