The Parks Department of the Township of Esquimalt is looking for a dedicated Arborist 1. Reporting to the Lead Arborist, you will handle various responsibilities including planting, pruning, and maintaining both coniferous and deciduous trees. This position plays a crucial role in promoting the community’s environmental integrity and enhancing local parks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct tree planting and pruning tasks
• Execute watering and hedge trimming activities
• Maintain arboricultural standards across parks
• Perform routine park maintenance as needed
• Assist the Lead Arborist with various projects
Requirements:
• ISA Arboriculture Certification necessary
• Tree Risk Assessor Certification required
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
• Pesticide Applicator’s License for British Columbia
• 2-3 years of relevant experience preferred
