Support aquatic effect monitoring as an Environmental Monitoring Technician for Elk Valley Resources in British Columbia. This position is a blend of fieldwork and office management focusing on compliance and data quality.
Reporting to the Senior Lead, Aquatic Sciences, your role will involve field sampling—including water quality and fish sampling—and data management. You will play a vital role in ensuring regulatory compliance through effective monitoring and project support. The technician role includes supervising contractors and participating in essential inspections and audits.
Key Responsibilities:
• Steer health and safety training programs
• Participate in aquatic monitoring and sampling procedures
• Manage comprehensive environmental data reporting
• Conduct inspections and field audits regularly
• Aid in developing safety protocols and plans
Requirements:
• At least two years of relevant experience
• Diploma or degree in appropriate environmental disciplines
• Familiarity with GIS or EQuIS systems preferred
• Robust skills in Microsoft Office Suite
• Must hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license
