The Town of Virden has an opening for a Sanitation II position commencing immediately.

This is the senior position in the garbage collection division of the Public Works Department, although the individual could be required to assist in other departments if necessary.

This position requires an individual that is in positive health and capable of carrying out the physical requirements of the job and able to pass a medical examination. A high school diploma or equivalent is required as well as a Class 3 with Air driver?s license.
Operation, maintenance and minor repair to the Town’s garbage trucks and related equipment;
Responsible for the collection of garbage as per assigned routes and maintenance of a specific time schedule;
To assist in the loading of garbage;
Miscellaneous duties as required,



including working in other departments within the Town of Virden;
Any other duties as assigned by the Public Works Foreman;

Current starting wage is $ 27.31 per hour, with a six-month increase to $ 27.69 and a twelve-month increase to $ 29.01

This position is generally scheduled for 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, but this could vary depending on requirements of the employer, weather, or other circumstances.
