Airswift is working with one of our major Oil and Gas clients to find a Mechanical Assistant to join their team in Calgary, AB.
Key Responsibilities: Assist the maintenance team with daily tasks including inspections, repairs, and routine maintenance of equipment and facilities.
Perform basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repairs under the guidance of experienced maintenance staff.
Assist in maintaining an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, ensuring they are organized and readily available.
Help with the setup and breakdown of equipment for various operations.
Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area, ensuring all safety protocols and guidelines are followed.
Participate in training sessions and workshops to develop skills and knowledge in maintenance practices.
Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by the maintenance supervisor.
The successful candidate needs to be well-organized, energetic, and service-oriented with the following qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
Robust interest in mechanical and electrical systems.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Basic understanding of tools and equipment used in maintenance work.
Willingness to learn and take on current tasks.
Valuable communication skills and attention to detail.
Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
Previous experience in a maintenance or construction role is a plus but not required.
Basic knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in an industrial setting.
