Reporting directly to the Director, this role encompasses operational oversight and multiple responsibilities, from GIS mapping to contractor supervision. Your knowledge of forestry standards will guide significant decisions, ensuring the health and sustainability of UBC’s forest resources. Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and monitor post-harvest regeneration activities
• Assist in pre-harvest planning and documentation
• Conduct educational outreach and support field programs
• Ensure safety compliance and identify issues promptly
• Oversee contractor performance and policy adherence
Requirements:
• Relevant undergraduate degree with two years of experience
• Preferred completion of a forestry diploma program
• Understanding of silviculture systems and logging methods
• Registration as a Forest Technologist or Silviculture Surveyor preferred
• Proficient in GIS and database applications
