Support client recovery as a part-time Program Assistant at CAMH's Medical Withdrawal Service. This temporary position until December 2026 enables you to foster a therapeutic setting for clients with substance use disorders.
You will work alongside clinical professionals in a dynamic environment, providing essential support and direct care to clients navigating their recovery journey. Responsibilities include monitoring client interactions, aiding client participation, and ensuring a safe and engaging therapeutic environment. Weekend and evening shifts are part of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Participate in supportive interactions with clients
• Escort clients for necessary medical clearances
• Communicate behavioral observations and insights
• Maintain safety protocols within the unit
• Facilitate both individual and group treatments
Requirements:
• Completion of Secondary School diploma or healthcare coursework
• 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience preferred
• Personal Care Worker Certification or healthcare background
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Knowledge of mental health and addiction issues considered a plus
