Role Overview
The MDT Coordinator will support patients along their care pathway, ensuring seamless experience with a range of clinical professionals. This role requires excellent organisational skills, prioritisation, adaptability, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (consultants, nurses, allied health professionals, clerical staff) to coordinate patient care and streamline communication, acting as point of contact for MDT meetings.
- Prepare agendas and minutes for MDT meetings, track action points, and ensure timely follow‑up.
- Carry out comprehensive administration and secretarial duties, including managing patient data, producing reports for clinical audits, and supporting compliance with NHS Scotland standards.
- Coordinate patient appointments related to MDT discussions and ensure all documentation is accurate and timely.
- Support wider departmental administration, covering reception, processing referrals, assisting with audit and quality‑improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Working knowledge of healthcare administration.
- Robust organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Adaptability to fast‑paced changes and ability to respond promptly to clinical needs.
- Commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, and high‑quality patient care.
Duration, Location & Working Pattern
- Fixed term contract, 12 months.
- Part‑time, 28 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00‑17:00.
- Base location – Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
