About the Role BDO Canada is looking for a Consultant or Senior Consultant in our Construction Advisory and Dispute Services practice. The role focuses on project controls, claims and disputes on complex construction projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities

Conduct forensic delay analysis, quantum analysis, productivity analysis and insurance loss quantification for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects

Perform planning and project controls, including progress tracking, cost analysis, and loss quantification

Review project‑related costs such as labor, materials, and equipment

Read and analyze design documents and estimate material quantities

Utilize planning software such as Primavera and Microsoft Project to extract and analyze data

Research and interpret document control systems and project information sources

Collaborate with senior analysts to prepare or respond to delay and cost claims, and to produce expert reports

Support engagement proposals and contribute to business development initiatives

Attend industry conferences and events to expand knowledge

Visit project sites as needed

Experience and Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management,



quantity surveying or related discipline

Post‑graduate degree in Construction Management is an asset

2-5 years of professional experience in a similar role or project‑management functions in the engineering and construction industry

Knowledge of cost estimation and cost planning for construction and infrastructure projects

Skilled in Primavera or other project‑scheduling software

Professional certifications such as PSP, CCP or CEC are an asset

Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Effective communication skills

Willingness to travel within Canada and internationally as needed

Compensation $68,000 – $104,000 annually.
