This position focuses on managing the communication systems for the Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service Department. You will be responsible for dispatching emergency resources, recording incidents, and ensuring smooth radio communication with fire apparatus. Your attention to detail will aid in maintaining safety and compliance across multiple incidents, contributing to community safety.
Key Responsibilities:
• Answer and monitor emergency phones for Vaughan and King Township
• Maintain radio contact with fire apparatus during incidents
• Complete detailed notes in CAD for all alarm calls
• Generate reports and invoices for vehicle collisions
• Train and evaluate current Communications Operators
Requirements:
• Graduate of Emergency Services Dispatch accredited program
• Valid class 'G' Ontario Driver's license
• Certification in NFPA 1061 Level I preferred
• Robust communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
