Position: Registered Visual Sign Language Interpreters for Doncaster and Oaklands Elementary schools. The role is a 10‑month per year contract at 32.5 hours weekly, with a contracted rate of $64.89 per hour. Work will be conducted in elementary classroom settings at Oaklands and Doncaster Elementary Schools.
You will:
Provide Visual Sign Language Interpretation for a student in an elementary classroom setting.
Participate in team meetings (including the development and review of progress toward the goals of the student’s Individual Education Plan), providing insight on the success of communication strategies and bringing relevant student information forward.
Qualifications
Have completed a recognized post‑secondary degree in a sign language interpreter training program with associated interpretation experience (preferably in an educational setting).
Be a member in positive standing with the Westcoast Association of Visual Language Interpreters (WAVLI). Membership must be maintained.
Pay: $64.89 per hour.
