Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Analyzes insurance contracts to ensure provisions are applied correctly.

Evaluates each claim for appropriateness of payment, denial, calculation of benefits, etc.

Requests and reviews all necessary information to assess each claim.

Communicates with the insured routinely to provide status updates.

Accurately inputs pertinent information into the appropriate claim system and processes in a timely and productive manner.

Ensures claim handling is thorough, understandable, and properly documented.

Adheres to insurance regulations and internal service level standards.

Bilingual Requirements
Fluency in English and French languages.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Two or more years of claims handling experience, preferably with Living Benefit claims such as Disability Income, Critical Illness, and Disability Waiver or Premium claims.

Knowledge of basic computer systems such as word processing, email, spreadsheets, etc.





Aptitude for learning new computer systems.

Experience with claims processing procedures and documentation, administrative procedures, legislative requirements, and medical principles related to the examination and approval of Living Benefits insurance claims.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of disability and life insurance preferable.

Other Qualifications

Good analytical and problem solving skills.

Strong interpersonal skills to interact with team members.

Ability to keep sensitive and confidential material private.

Ability to work in a team environment.
