This position focuses on the Opening Doors Durham Program, collaborating with Landlord Engagement Specialists to screen secure housing units for clients. You will play a crucial role in advocating for tenants, resolving disputes, and ensuring compliance with housing responsibilities. With over two years of relevant experience, you will empower clients and promote long-term housing retention in a community-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build relationships with community partners and clients
• Conduct regular check-ins to ensure tenant compliance
• Assist clients with applications for social services
• Provide referrals and resources to address immediate needs
• Participate in program evaluations and case conferences
Requirements:
• Post-secondary degree in Social Services or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 2 years in a housing-focused community setting
• Knowledge of tenant rights and housing legislation
• Solid problem-solving and communication skills
• Flexibility to attend evening or weekend events
