Job Title: QA Automation Engineer (Playwright + Java) – Banking

Location: Toronto, ON (4 days Hybrid)

Duration: Long term Contract

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Playwright and Java to join our Banking Technology team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing and implementing automation frameworks, executing end-to-end testing, and ensuring high-quality software delivery for banking applications.

Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines is essential. Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright with Java.

Develop and enhance automation frameworks for UI, API, and regression testing.

Analyze business and functional requirements and create comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.

Perform functional, integration, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing.

Execute API testing using Postman or REST Assured.

Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, and Product Owners to understand application requirements.

Identify, log, track,



and verify software defects using defect management tools.

Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.

Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.

Ensure software quality standards and compliance with banking regulations and best practices.

Required

Skills

7+ years of QA Automation experience.

Solid hands-on experience with Playwright Automation using Java.

Strong programming skills in Java.

Experience with Selenium is an added advantage.

Experience in API automation using REST Assured or Postman.

Solid knowledge of SQL for backend/database validation.

Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, and JUnit/TestNG.

Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Robust analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
