Summary

Reporting to the Shipping Department, this position is responsible for the Safe and Efficient operation of the forklift assigned to the Shipping area.

Additional Incentives offered

Rate of pay: $24.25/hr

Duties and Responsibilities

- Perform a pre-shift inspection of the forklift
- Complete pre-shift daily inspection form and hand‑in at the start of shift
- Operate equipment/machinery following all safety procedures
- Load and unload trucks (Tautliner, van, container, customer pick up, etc.)
- Report any equipment malfunctions to Shipping Lead Hands/ Supervisors
- Monitor quality of material and product being handled and report any deficiencies to Shipping Lead Hands/ Supervisors
- Ensure that material (picked orders) is stored in appropriate/designated staging areas
- Ensure accuracy of material supplied to customers
- Maintain housekeeping/cleaning of equipment and around assigned work area
- Participate in department and company meetings as applicable
- Participate in mid and year‑end inventory count if needed
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including health and safety, as applicable




- Perform other duties as assigned by the Shipping Lead Hands/ Supervisors

Education, Experience and Qualifications

- Must have completed Grade 12 or equivalent
- Previous manufacturing experience is an asset but not a requirement
- Forklift certification acquired through company-sponsored training program
- Demonstrates ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently
- Ability to complete reports accurately and legibly
- Positive communication skills
- Team player, strong interpersonal skills
- Must be available to work day, afternoon and night shift, as applicable
