Under the mentorship of Dr. Heather Armstrong, this position aims to facilitate the understanding of diet-microbiome-host interactions through clinical sample processing and laboratory assays. Responsibilities include the recruitment of subjects, managing laboratory workflows, and conducting both basic and advanced experimental protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
• Recruit patients for involvement in clinical research
• Process blood, stool, and tissue samples for analysis
• Conduct primary cell culture and biochemical tests




• Maintain inventory and assist with lab equipment upkeep
• Develop presentations and write manuscripts summarizing research
Requirements:
• Background in research coordination or laboratory work
• Familiarity with microscopy, flow cytometry, and ELISAs
• Excellent detail orientation and organizational skills
• Capability to instruct students and staff on lab processes
• Must work on-site at North Campus Edmonton
