The Welland Museum is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Educational Program Coordinator to join our team in a full-time, permanent role. This position plays a key role in developing, delivering, and evaluating educational and community-based programming that connects audiences of all ages with the history of Welland and the surrounding region.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about education, community engagement, and local history, and who thrives in a small, collaborative museum environment.

Key Responsibilities

Educational & Community Programming

- Develop and deliver curriculum-connected educational programs aligned with the Ontario Curriculum for elementary and secondary schools, offered both onsite at the Museum and offsite in local schools.
- Design and facilitate March Break and summer camp programming.
- Develop and deliver engaging programs for seniors in Welland and Pelham, including outreach-based initiatives.
- Create and deliver recreational programming, including birthday parties and family programs.
- Research, develop, and lead historical walking tours.

Planning, Budgeting & Resources

- Create and manage program budgets.
- Source, prepare, and manage materials and supplies for all programs.
- Develop marketing materials for school and public programs.
- Create and implement a marketing and outreach plan to connect with schools, community agencies, and senior groups.
- Build relationships with local historians, authors, educators, and other community partners to support guest presentations and team-oriented programming.

Evaluation & Supervision





- Collect participant feedback and evaluate program success to support continuous improvement.
- Supervise summer students involved in program delivery.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to evaluate the performance of summer students.

Qualifications & Skills

- Post-secondary education in education, history, museum studies, recreation, or a related field.
- Experience developing and delivering educational or recreational programming, preferably in a museum, cultural, or community setting.
- Knowledge of, or ability to work with, the Ontario Curriculum.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills with diverse audiences.
- Excellent organizational skills, including budgeting and program planning.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Experience working with children, youth, and/or seniors is an asset.

Status: Full-time, permanent

Salary: $44,000 annually

Benefits: Health and dental benefits included

Work Location: Primarily onsite at the Welland Museum, with offsite program delivery within the community

Schedule: Thursday-Monday, weekend work, including Sundays, and occasional evenings are required to support programs, tours, and events
