Tl’etinqox School, situated in the picturesque Tsilhqot’in Territory, invites applications for a compassionate School Counsellor. This vital role involves collaborating with families, local agencies, and educators to ensure a well-rounded support system for all students. You will play a key part in creating a culturally responsive learning workplace that promotes emotional and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Offer individual and group counselling for students
• Incorporate local cultural values into educational support
• Respond to and manage student crises with informed practices
• Work with teams to create IEPs and safety plans
• Guide staff on social-emotional learning and related strategies
Requirements:
• Master’s Degree in relevant counselling fields
• BC Teaching Certificate required
• Robust grasp of First Nations culture and challenges
• Experience working with Indigenous populations highly valued
• Valid Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
