Dark Matters is seeking emerging performers, sound artists, and interdisciplinary creators living in New York City. Two selected artists will not only receive a $500 stipend but will also participate in public presentations and discussions exploring the intersections of surveillance and art. Key Responsibilities:
• Propose performances focusing on surveillance or sousveillance
• Engage with public discussions led by curators
• Utilize Flux Factory’s resources for logistical support
• Participate in technical planning and rehearsals
• Collaborate with other selected artists during festivities
Requirements:
• Must be an emerging artist based in NYC
• A solid tie to themes of observation, power, or memory
• Encouragement of innovative and experimental submissions
• Current projects prioritized over recently shown works
• Deadline for applications is July 1, 2026
