Role Description The Maintenance Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in St. Catharines, ON. This position is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on production equipment, facility systems, and utilities to ensure safe and efficient operation. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, conducting repairs and adjustments,
and coordinating with production teams to minimize downtime.
The Maintenance
Technician will maintain accurate maintenance records, follow safety and food manufacturing compliance procedures, and assist with equipment installations and upgrades. The role also involves monitoring spare parts inventory, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and communicating effectively with supervisors and colleagues to prioritize work orders.
Qualifications
Solid mechanical aptitude with experience maintaining and repairing industrial or manufacturing equipment.
Knowledge of basic electrical systems, controls, and troubleshooting in a production setting.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs, work order systems, and maintenance documentation.
Understanding of safety practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and food manufacturing or industrial hygiene standards.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across operations and quality teams.
Previous experience in food processing, chemicals, or related manufacturing environments is an asset.
Willingness to work shifts or overtime as needed to support production schedules.
