Drive Métis health priorities as a Health Systems Advocate in Cranbrook, BC. Collaborate with health authorities to enhance care delivery for Métis communities while promoting cultural safety. This position liaises with Métis Chartered Communities to define and advocate for their health needs.
Candidates will engage with the Regional Health Authority on Métis health issues, implement recommendations from the In Plain Sight Report, and raise awareness on Anti-Indigenous Racism in healthcare. The role requires building trust within health systems, focusing on culturally secure care planning and delivery. Key Responsibilities:
Implement Taanishi Kiiya recommendations with health authority
Build relationships with health leaders for Métis needs
Enhance understanding of Métis experiences in health care
Address community health challenges through engagement
Provide timely information on Métis health needs Requirements:
Diploma in healthcare or social work field
Minimum two years' relevant experience
Knowledge of Indigenous health services
Commitment to addressing Anti-Indigenous Racism
Ability to travel and work adaptable schedule Shape the future of Métis health care by improving systems and promoting culturally informed services in BC.
