Fuel Truck Driver – Calgary, AB

Reporting to the Preventative Maintenance Foreperson/Planner in Calgary, the Fuel Truck Driver will be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of fuel, lubrication, and related services to heavy equipment and job sites across the Calgary region.

Responsibilities

- Safely operate fuel and service trucks in accordance with Aecon policies and regulatory requirements.
- Deliver fuel, lubricants, and fluids to heavy equipment and vehicles on active construction sites.
- Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle logs and records.
- Follow all Aecon safety processes, procedures, and site‑specific safety requirements at all times.
- Support equipment operators and site teams by ensuring timely fueling to minimize downtime.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the fuel truck and related equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels of fuel and supplies and coordinate replenishment as required.
- Identify and report mechanical issues or defects in equipment or vehicles.
- Comply with all environmental regulations, including spill prevention and response procedures.
- Work effectively with site supervisors, equipment teams, and dispatch personnel.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and ongoing training initiatives.
- Support general labour activities in the Calgary shop when fuel delivery activities for the day are completed.

Qualifications

- Valid Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.




- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience operating fuel or service trucks, preferably in a construction environment.
- Strong understanding of safe fueling procedures and handling of petroleum products.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required.
- Knowledge of construction equipment and job site operations is considered an asset.
- Commitment to safety, with a strong track record of following established safety processes.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to supporting operations.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- WHMIS, TDG, and other safety certifications are considered an asset.
