Shape Alberta's communication strategy as the Media Relations leader for the Executive Council. This full time role emphasizes strategic media outreach and stakeholder engagement. As the Assistant Director of Media Relations, you will report directly to the Director and spearhead initiatives to enhance engagement with diverse communities.
Your role involves leading a team that builds solid relationships across multicultural and specialty media markets. You will strategize to support government priorities, ensuring effective communication with Albertans and coordinating with various stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement media outreach strategies that boost engagement
Strengthen Alberta’s visibility in key media markets
Provide strategic advice on outreach prospects and emerging issues
Build relationships with media, journalists, and stakeholders
Oversee media engagement activities like interviews and events Requirements:
University degree in Communications or related field
Minimum of four years of relevant experience
Knowledge of public sector communication practices
Cultural awareness and relationship-building skills
Experience with media monitoring and analysis tools Maximize your impact by guiding Alberta's media engagement efforts and enhancing public awareness.
