As a Manager, International Tax at Doane Grant Thornton, you will collaborate with the International Tax team to advise multinational organizations on their tax strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance across diverse jurisdictions. Preparation and review of income tax provisions under IFRS and US GAAP. Work with team members on Canadian tax compliance matters with a focus on foreign reporting (including surplus accounts, T106, T1134, T1135, NR4, and withholding taxes).
Structure
Canadian operations and conduct tax due diligence for the acquisition of Canadian target entities. Collaborate with global colleagues to develop strategies that reduce worldwide effective tax rates for multinational clients. Research technical issues related to inbound and outbound international tax advisory projects.
Coach junior tax team members and support a meaningful performance review process. Collaborate with other service lines (Transfer Pricing, M&A; Tax, Indirect Tax, and Advisory) to deliver integrated solutions and address clients’ evolving business and tax needs. 4+ years of tax experience within a skilled services firm or a multinational corporation with substantial foreign affiliates.
Significant tax planning and compliance experience with deep understanding of Canadian Corporate Taxation, including inbound and outbound international tax services.
Proven experience in consulting services to clients with international and cross‑border operations/investments. Completion of a Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Law, and/or Taxation. CPA Canada’s In‑Depth Tax Program or Master of Taxation.
