Construction Equipment Mechanic Reporting to the Equipment Manager, the Construction Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of tools and equipment located at the Equipment Yard in Transcona.
Responsibilities Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of construction tools and equipment (e.g., oil changes, blade and belt changes, cord and hose repairs, engine repairs).
Repair or replace parts on tools and equipment and triage to third‑party providers when necessary.
Source and order parts as needed.
Disassemble and reassemble tools and equipment.
Conduct daily inspections of tools, materials, and equipment at the yard.
Test tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality.
Maintain towable equipment and trailer wiring.
Control inventory of equipment, materials, and tools, including numbering and decaling.




Assist with general yard operations and other duties as required.
Qualifications 3–5+ years of mechanic experience working on construction tools and equipment or relevant experience.
Red Seal certification is considered an asset.
Experience working with small engines, skid‑steers, and power tools.
Welding experience is considered an asset.
Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot clutches, hydraulics, and electrical components.
Ability to read and interpret technical and parts manuals.
Detail‑oriented, mechanically inclined, with robust time‑management skills.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
Computer skills are considered an asset.
Must have a vehicle to commute to the yard location.
