Join the City of Richmond Hill as a Fire Prevention Inspector. Your main focus will be on safeguarding lives through building inspections and fire safety education in the community.

In this significant position, you will report directly to the Fire Prevention Officer and play a critical role in enforcing fire safety regulations. You will conduct thorough inspections, assess fire systems, and educate building occupants on best practices for fire safety. Your efforts will directly contribute to community welfare and compliance with safety laws.

Key Responsibilities: • Inspect and test fire protection systems for compliance • Enforce applicable fire safety regulations and legislation • Review fire safety plans and specifications • Conduct analyses on building egress and occupant loads • Prepare technical reports on fire investigations

Requirements: • 3-year post-secondary degree in a relevant field • 2 years of building or fire inspection experience • NFPA 1031 certification (Level I mandatory) • Proficiency in fire safety standards and building codes • Excellent analytical and communication skills
