Position Overview
Effective September 1, 2026 – Primary French Immersion Teacher.

School: École Frank Ross (EFR), located on the north side of Dawson Creek. EFR serves Kindergarten through Grade 7 in a dual‑track French Immersion and English program.

Responsibilities
The ideal teacher candidate places students at the heart of the practice, focusing on teaching the learner rather than merely the curriculum. They create inclusive classrooms that welcome students of all abilities, ensuring each child feels valued, supported, and challenged. The teacher is an open‑minded professional who collaborates, reflects, and continuously learns to improve their craft. Grounded in research‑based practice and guided by care, the teacher strives to provide every student the chance to succeed and thrive.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Valid BC Ministry of Education teaching certificate (or qualification to obtain one).

Completed K‑12 teacher training and practicum, or equivalent evaluation documentation.

Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

Experience adapting and modifying curriculum to meet diverse student needs.





Ability to develop and implement individualized learning plans.

Strong classroom management skills.

Experience working with students displaying a variety of behaviours.

Strong literacy and numeracy skills.

Willingness to work on and implement school initiatives and goals.

Capacity to work independently and collaboratively with a team.

Commitment to individualized and group instruction using effective strategies.

Experience teaching in a multi‑age group setting.

Engages in fair, student‑focused assessment practices consistent with the BC curriculum, reflecting on evidence of learning to guide instruction.

Advantages

Relocation allowance: up to $5,000 for out‑of‑district applicants (receipts required).

Northern Travel allowance: up to $4,000, tax‑effective travel benefit within CRA guidelines; prorated for part‑time staff.

Remote and rural allowance: approximately $3,035 per full‑time equivalent, with adjustments in the salary grid.

Other allowances and benefits as defined in the Collective Agreement with the British Columbia Teachers Federation.
