A fast-growing digital entertainment company is looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to help build scalable backend systems for a next-gen online social gaming platform .

PHP (especially Laravel), and play a key role in moving from monoliths to microservices. This hands-on role offers the chance to shape architecture, boost performance, and drive innovation in a high-traffic settings.

fully remote CAD 130k to 160k gross/year

Fully remote position to work in a payroll system.

Take ownership of backend development tasks using PHP and Laravel, ensuring productive and secure implementations.

Develop and maintain robust APIs for both internal use and public consumption.

Work closely with infrastructure and DevOps teams to enhance automation, monitoring, and deployment processes.

Conduct peer code reviews, mentor team members, and help establish engineering standards.

PHP and Laravel within production environments (including project leadership roles)

AWS (Deep knowledge of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL ,



with an emphasis on schema design and performance tuning.

Solid background in CI/CD pipelines, system observability, and DevOps methodologies.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead technical discussions and mentor team members.

Experience with scalable architecture patterns and optimization techniques.

Background in building event-driven systems or Previous work in gaming, real-time, fintech, or blockchain-related platforms.

Strong mathematical, probability, and statistical analysis skills.
