In this full time position, you will report to the Principal and work collaboratively to create a classroom workplace geared towards individual student needs. You’ll use proven programs like Read Well Literacy and JUMP Math while weaving in the Haida language to enhance your teaching. Your role ensures that students thrive academically and socially in a nurturing space.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design curriculum tailored to the needs of each student
• Incorporate Haida language and cultural practices in lessons
• Evaluate and report on student progress regularly
• Mentor and lead support staff effectively
• Address behavioral patterns with appropriate interventions
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in education
• Current BC Teaching certificate
• Experience in education with First Nations students an asset
• Training in adapting lessons for wide-ranging learning styles
• First Aid certification or commitment to achieve it
