Our growing client in Ottawa West is looking for a progressive Director of Finance to join their fast‑paced, dynamic organization on a full‑time, permanent basis.

Duties
Oversee Accounting team to ensure accuracy and timely submissions, providing support as needed
Management of General Ledger and related duties
Preparation of consolidated monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements and financial reporting
Submission of tax remittances
Coordination and preparation of budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain planning and control procedures and analyze report variances
Risk analysis and ad hoc analysis as needed
Preparing month and year end closing, ensure transactions are complete, accurate, and properly documented
Liaising with auditors, taking an active role in internal and external audit, providing required reporting
Ensuring compliance as well as implementation of policies and procedures, monitoring for accurate and successful execution




Provide mentorship and development for Accounting team through thoughtful evaluation
Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and present financial reports
Provide contributions and recommendations regarding financial aspects of the business, communicating with Senior Management on financial variances and strategies, including developing long‑term growth models
Participate in other active projects and ad‑hoc reporting as needed

About You
Active CPA designation in positive standing
7+ years of recent experience within a similar role for a medium‑to‑large organization; construction industry experience a strong asset
3+ years of leadership of an accounting team
Strong oral, written, and communication skills in English
Solid problem‑solving skills, critical thinking
Highly organized, strong attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills, self‑starter, collaborative – able to work with all levels of staff

Salary

The salary band for this opportunity is $125,000 to $145,000 depending on relevant previous experience.
