What Your Day Will Look Like
As Project Manager, you'll work closely with Site Superintendents, consultants, subcontractors, and internal operations teams to coordinate project execution, monitor schedules and budgets, manage project documentation, and support quality throughout construction and closeout.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are well‑coordinated, risks are proactively managed, and stakeholders remain informed throughout the construction process.

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week

Work Location:



Split between Southwest Properties Head Office and onsite construction offices. All project sites are within HRM.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Coordinate project activities from pre‑construction through project completion.

Support the development and maintenance of project roles, responsibilities, and deliverables.

Collaborate with Site Superintendents and project teams to maintain construction schedules and sequencing.

Develop and update master schedules, incorporating short‑interval planning and six‑week look‑ahead schedules using Lean scheduling principles.

Assist in administering subcontracts, including reviewing scopes of work, schedules of values, and subcontractor performance.

Review and coordinate shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals to ensure timely resolution.

Lead startup meetings with subcontractors to review project expectations, scopes, and coordination requirements.

Manage project change documentation, including Site Instructions (SIs), Change Directives (CDs), Change Orders (CCOs), and associated cost tracking.

Monitor construction budgets, forecasts, purchase orders, and monthly cost reporting using Procore.

Review and approve subcontractor progress invoices.

Facilitate regular trade, consultant, and internal project meetings, documenting action items and follow‑up.

Monitor quality control processes throughout construction and support deficiency management.

Support commissioning activities, project closeout, warranty documentation, and turnover requirements.

Promote a safe, collaborative, and organized project environment.





Your work environment will be shared between the Southwest Properties Head Office and onsite construction offices. Site conditions may include exposure to loud noise, seasonal temperature extremes, dirt, and dust. Appropriate safety procedures and personal protective equipment are required when onsite.

Our ideal candidate has:

3–7 years of experience in a Construction Project Management or Project Coordination role.

Experience working on residential, multi‑unit, or commercial construction projects.

An Engineering Degree, Construction Management, Construction Technology Diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience is considered an asset.

Experience using Procore or similar construction management software.

Strong understanding of construction methods, building codes, and project delivery processes.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and time management skills.

Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.

A collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to project management.

Previous experience coordinating consultants and subcontractors is considered an asset.

Position Requires: Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check.
